Job description

The Support Engineer will provide technical service and support to mobile operators. In this position, you will troubleshoot and resolve problems to stabilize and optimize the customer's networks. You will configure and integrate different solutions in new and live customer networks.

The Support Engineer usually interacts with customer technical staff, operations managers, service engineers and other groups within the support organization. You also may interact with groups in sales, R&D, 3rd party suppliers, and local authorities.
As there are no absolute borders between these various areas, you will need to be flexible and become familiar with more than one area. You will be able to travel internationally and work in various cultural environments. Technical development is rapid and you will be responsible for continuously keeping your competence and skills up to date.

Working as an engineer in the support organization, you will have a broad knowledge within telecom and Data-com, covering hardware, software, and networking knowledge. You will be working, collaborating and communicating in an international environment, both with colleagues internally as well as with customers and suppliers. This opportunity often requires you to take on responsibilities and it is important that you can work independently as well as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Handling of Customer Issues
  • Dedicated support handling 
  • Handling of Software Update Management (SUM)
  • Communicating via a Remote Service Gateway (RSG) 

Key Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Hopefully 5 years years of experience in any of the below domains
  • Domain experience:  Cloud, BSS, OSS etc.
  • Negotiation skills
  • Planning & organizing skills
  • Meeting customer expectations you establish and delivering results
  • Presentation & communication skills
  • Playing well with people
  • Applying your expertise in technology and otherwise

Additional Requirements: 

Fluent in Japanese
